Steve Oggero '54 +

Steve Oggero entered St. Thomas in the fall of 1950, and was on the freshman football, baseball, basketball and track teams. During his freshman year, he was also a pitcher and infielder/outfielder for Fr. Wilson’s 1950 Town House Buffalo team that won the 1950 City Championship. He played baseball with the St. Thomas 1950 runner-up American Legion baseball team and with the 1951 team that won the American Legion Championship. He started and lettered for three years on the St. Thomas varsity football team as an offensive and defensive back and excelled at both positions. During this period, he never missed playing a game. The 1954 St. Thomas varsity football team won for St. Thomas its second TCIL State Championship title. Steve played an outstanding game that day.
