EAGLE GOLF
Golf is a tradition at St. Thomas that harkens back to the 1930s when Masters and PGA Champion Jackie Burke was a student. The tradition continued through the 50s when PGA Champion Dave Marr was a student. The history of success continued on with state championship play throughout the next five decades.
This foundation of excellence lives on today, allowing young men with golfing experience to develop their skills and expertise in a challenging and enjoyable environment. The Eagles field a freshman team, a Junior Varsity and a Varsity team. Tryouts are held in the fall, with Memorial Park, located minutes from St. Thomas, acting as the Eagles' home course.
Golf practice continues year round. For those involved in other sports, golf must be the priority in the spring. Competition takes place in the fall and spring with both private and public schools. |
