EAGLE BASEBALL NEWS

25TH ANNUAL FR. WILSON TOURNAMENT TO KICK OFF AT MINUTE MAID PARK

FEBRUARY 12, 2019

Baseball coach Craig Biggio and the athletic department are very excited to announce that the first game of the annual Fr. Wilson / Sr. Julia Baseball Tournament will be played at Minute Maid Park on March 11.

On March 11 at noon, the Eagles will take command of the diamond against Galveston O'Connell to kick off tournament play. Admission is $5 for kids and $7 for adults.

With tryouts concluded and the rosters set, Biggio is looking forward to seeing fans and alumni out at Minute Maid and at home at Fr. Wilson Field.

"I want to thank the kids in the program for working as hard as they have this off season," Biggio said. "It will pay off. Our schedule is probably the toughest it has ever been. We have Strake Jesuit, Lamar, St. John, Episcopal, Kingwood, Bellaire and Brazoswood, along with a lot of other good teams in the city on the schedule."

This year celebrates the 25th anniversary of the tournament hosted by St. Thomas and St. Pius X, which honors two of the schools' greatest baseball ambassadors, Father James Wilson, C.S.B., and Sister Julia Bielamowicz, O.P.

Thanks to all of the parents and boosters from St. Thomas and St. Pius X for all of their hard work in helping to create a great event year after year.

As we get ready for the final tournament weekend of the 2010 season, let’s pray for some great weather and that all of the participants in this year’s event have a great experience at the Father Wilson / Sister Julia Tournament.
